Eastern DRAP a Success
The Domestic Relations Division hosted the
Domestic Relations Association of Pennsylvania (DRAP) 1998
Eastern Training Conference on June 16 and 17. Family
Court Administrative Judge Paul P. Panepinto and Margaret
T. McKeown, Esquire, Court Administrator of the
Domestic Relations Division, welcomed the attendees who included
line staff, supervisors, managers, attorneys, and judges
from Philadelphia, Allegheny, Berks, Bradford,
Chester, Cumberland, Delaware, Huntingdon, Jefferson,
Lackawanna, Lancaster, and Lehigh Counties, as well as
representatives from the federal, state, and local welfare departments and
the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. FJD
Court Administrator Joseph J. DiPrimio, Esquire, a Past
President of DRAP, was also in attendance at the Conference.
The Conference was enhanced by the contributions
of many interesting and distinguished speakers,
including Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Sandra Schultz
Newman, Mayor Edward G. Rendell, Deputy Secretary of
Welfare Sherri Z. Heller, and Director of the Bureau of Child Support
Enforcement Daniel N. Richard. Conference attendees were provided with presentations
on such timely topics as: Welfare Reform; implementation of the
state-wide computer system PACSES; upcoming changes in the Rules of Civil
Procedure; and the new Uniform Interstate Family Support Act.
All of the hard work of the members of the Family Division
DRAP committees resulted in a very enjoyable and informative conference.
